Input for Interactive Science Notebooks

What are input and output in science notebooks?  Input is a teacher-chosen method of sharing information.  Output is a student-chosen method of sharing information.  After/ during and input activity, students can write their output.  Learn more about Output Ideas.
Fold-Ups- I love using fold-ups as input for Interactive Science Notebook!  I don't love having students copy notes on paper--their hearts and minds are not in it and I'm not sure who it really benefits.
Vocabulary- Students can just copy down vocabulary or do something a bit fancier with their vocabulary.  I use pre-made vocabulary charts and sometimes have students draw them in their notebooks.  Frayer and Marzano vocabulary models are great, too!
Lab Write-Ups, Experiments, and Science Weekly Five- Any classroom lab activities you do are great for science notebooks.  I also have  students glue their Science Weekly Five booklets in their journals.
Worksheets and Notes- I think these are pretty self-explanatory.  Instead of just taking notes or doing a worksheet and closing the notebook, have students do an output activity to take their understanding to another level.

If you're interested, I offer a lot of input activities in my TpT Store.

Awesome! I just started using your daily 5 in my lessons and it's been FANTASTIC!
I like the idea of placing their weekly booklet in their notebooks!
Thanks!
